There is beauty underneath it all
Hidden in all that mess was something beautiful. I almost missed it because all I could see was the mess which had wrapped itself around it; all I could see were the burdens which weighed it down.

I believe God gave us all the ingredients to have the things we want, to have peace on earth — the cure to disease, the solution to hunger, the remedy for sadness — right here under our noses. He filled our cabinets. We just have to come up with the recipe.
In the middle of a mess
Granted, there are days when it seems every piece of river trash gets hung up on your branch, days when you do what’s right and still get called wrong. That’s life. That’s everyone’s life.

Where was God on 9-11?
God works through the rescue workers, through friends and relatives, through medical personnel, through strangers who perform acts of mercy. God is present in the time of turmoil, to give the believer an inner confidence, an assurance that in the face of something so horribly wrong, that we find a sense of peace.
