Trust yourself. Trust others. You are not alone.
Being a storyteller means sharing the personal challenges and joys life presents to me daily. What I learned in my journey is that the things I thought only I felt, others also felt. I was not alone. You are not alone.
In search of one moment in time
Maybe contentment comes from making the most of where we are that day. Maybe that peace we're looking for is what we feel each night before we drift to sleep when we realize we lived the day the best we could. It may not have been great, may not have even been good, but it was our best effort.
Promises to myself
The new year is always a good time for resolutions. I prefer to call them promises, promises I make to myself. Unlike many, though, my promises have remained the same for years, and I use the new year to remind me to be more kind to myself.
Be who you were born to be
I believe we spend a good part of our life running from what life asks of us. We're afraid saying yes means saying no to so many other things we've grown accustomed to. But peace, I believe, can only come when we're true to the life we were meant to live.
Live outside the box
If you want spectacular, you have to tear up the box holding you back. You have to take a chance. You have to risk being bad in the hopes of being very good.
It just depends
That young lady knows the secret not many know: You don’t always have to win to win.
Today, I’ll clean fish
Maybe the secret of life isn’t cleaning fish — maybe the secret lies in knowing the difference between “having to” clean fish and “getting to” clean fish.
Humans should come with a warning label
When I cleanse my heart and mind of old thoughts bogging me down, I find renewed strength to face the day’s challenges.
We miss the good if we’re waiting for bad
Some of us live our lives just like that, waiting for bad stuff which never comes. We worry that we could become ill; we could lose our job; we could lose our marriage. But maybe, we won't. Maybe it just won't snow that day, but like the man in the salt truck, we are so focused on waiting for the bad, we fail to see the beauty happening all around us.
You’ve got this — really
That thing which hurts so much today won’t hurt forever. In time and with time, you’ll conquer the problem; you’ll fix what needs fixing, deal with what needs dealing, heal what needs healing.
