Sort through the mess

dirty dishes in sink

I asked Jenny to do the dishes while I was gone to work. I returned that evening to find both sides of the sink still stacked with dirty dishes.

“Why didn’t you do the dishes?” I demanded.

“The sinks were too full of dirty dishes,” she replied innocently.

There were so many dishes, she didn’t know where to start. The mess dulled her ability to think logically though the problem to find a solution.

Simply remove the mess, and the solution will present itself.

  • Remove the dirty dishes and fill the sink.

  • Remove the confusion in your life to find the answer.

  • Clear the roadblocks so you can see the path.

Sometimes life seems such a heavy burden to bear. We let problems grow out of proportion. It swallows us up. We lie trapped under a pile of dirty dishes, unable to move, unable to find the way . . .

  • . . . until we clear away the mess one piece at a time.

  • . . . until we get to the bottom of the sink and plug the drain to refill ourselves with fresh water.

“Become a ‘possibilitarian.’ No matter how dark things seem to be or actually are, raise your sights and see possibilities; always see them for they are always there.” — Dr. Norman Vincent Peale
