Save the drowning man
There is a time and a place for teaching and a time and a place for rescuing.
“When someone’s drowning is no time to try to teach them to swim.” Rev. Nic Showalter of the First United Methodist Church of Carmi
Sometimes, you just need to reach out and give people what they need — right then, without thought, without lecture.
We form a committee to decide how best to educate rather than take action immediately. We discuss the where, when, and what, instead of just reaching down. We let them drown while we debate how to save them (or if they deserve saving).
“Let no one come to you without leaving better.” Mother Teresa
